Abstract:
The world wide web (WWW) has rapidly become an important component of the economy, and as such invites malicious manipulation and attack. To analyze the vulnerability
of the web in general, and major sites in particular, to such
attacks, it is useful to have a dynamic model of traffic on the
web|that is a model which reflects the impact on web traffic
over time. We develop such a model, generalizing an existing equilibrium (entropy maximizing) model by following an
approach previously used in road traffic theory.
